Docker
Vane Docker setup: the short version
Orientation only; the official README is the source of truth.
Minimal flow
- Install Docker and confirm `docker --version` works.
- Pull or build the Vane image using the official README’s Docker path.
- Run the container, map port 3000, and mount a data volume for configuration.
- Open
http://localhost:3000and choose your model and SearXNG in settings.
The official README’s build-from-source example:
git clone https://github.com/ItzCrazyKns/Vane.git
cd Vane
docker build -t vane .
docker run -d -p 3000:3000 -v vane-data:/home/vane/data --name vane vane
This is an example copied from the official README on 2026-10-21. Versions and flags change; read the README before running it.
Do not
- Expose port 3000 directly to the public internet; keep it local/private and add a reverse proxy and auth if needed.
- Put model keys in the image or Git; use environment variables/local config.
- Assume every VPS architecture supports the same image; check ARM compatibility first.
